CT Scan

Computerized Tomography (CT) or Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT) scan
A CT scan uses a rotating X-ray machine, a row of detectors and a computer to create cross-sectional images of a “slice” or section of the body. These images provide detailed information of the soft tissues, blood vessels, organs and bones in various parts of the body.
CT is often the preferred way of diagnosing many cancers, such as liver, lung, and pancreatic cancers. It can help assess bone diseases, bone density, and the state of the patient’s spine. We routinely use our CT for scanning:
- Low-dose CT Lung
- Coronary Artery Calcium Score (CAC)
- Intra-abdominal fat
CT Scan is suitable for people with the following concerns:
- Family history or risk of cancer
- Family history or risk of heart attack or stroke
- Risk of cardiovascular disease such as high cholesterol or sedentary lifestyle
- High risk activities such as smoking or excessive alcohol consumption
- Trauma
ADDLIFE’s CT Scanner is the Revolution EVO from GE. The Revolution CT utilizes the next generation of GE iterative reconstruction technique, which allows for a lower dose while preserving or even enhancing image quality and diagnostic value. This 128 slice CT scanner provides rapid scans and is suitable for scanning organs that are constantly in motion such as the heart, lungs and organs in the chest cavity.
