X-Ray

X-Ray
X-rays use invisible electromagnetic energy beams to produce images of bones, internal tissues and organs.
X-rays are performed for many reasons, including diagnosing tumors or bone injuries. And for annual health check-up, a standard Chest X-Ray is frequently used to screen for lung conditions and enlarged heart.
X-rays are the oldest form of medical imaging and have been used for decades but is still the gold standard in the diagnosis of bone lesions.
Some people worry about the risks of radiation exposure from getting an X-ray. However, if used appropriately the benefits far outweigh the risks. Unborn children are more sensitive to radiation and therefore alternative imaging such ultrasound should be used. If you're pregnant or suspect that you might be pregnant, always inform the doctor.
X-ray is suitable for, but not limited to, the following:
- Lung conditions
- Bone injury or disease
- Arthritis
- Enlarged heart
