Exercise Stress Test (EST)

Exercise Stress Test (EST)
Exercise Stress Test measures your heart’s electrical activity during physical activity. Because when you exercise, your heart needs to work harder and beat faster, this can reveal if your heart muscles are getting enough blood supply to support physical activity. Therefore, an EST is used to assess your risk of atherosclerosis and developing a heart attack.
Exercise Stress Test is suitable for people with the following:
- Men over 40 years old
- Women over 50 years old
- Family history or risk of heart attack, high cholesterol
- Risk of heart disease such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes
- High risk activities such as smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, sedentary lifestyle, inadequate sleep
